Everyone knows reviews/ratings. Everyone reads these once and they often contribute to a decision. But why are reviews/ratings so important, especially for aspiring independent artists?
This has several very simple reasons:
- Ratings/Reviews help make the song and the artist more visible (triggers the “algorithm”)
- Is a song and an artist more likely to stand out if there are reviews/ratings available
- Compared to major artists who receive tons of reviews (most of which are even bought), you know that fans or listeners wrote the reviews/ratings.
- Ratings/Reviews encourage other music lovers to listen and contribute to marketing/awareness
That’s why it’s important to always leave a review if you like a song/artist.
It’s best to search for the artist on several portals. You can rate songs/artists almost anywhere.
